The most amazing laundry pedestals!

You know you've been married forever when your hubby builds you laundry pedestals for your anniversary.  And you're thrilled by it!  When we bought our house we purchased a new HE washer and dryer.  At the time we did not buy the pedestals that go along with them.  At the time I couldn't justify the additional $500 bucks for two flimsy looking drawers.  Looking back on it I still can't justify spending it.  But...crouching over to do laundry is a complete pain in the neck. (Or back, to be perfectly honest)  So when the hubs offered to make me some diy laundry pedestals I jumped at the chance!

I scoured the internet and pinterest for some ideas/plans.  We decided to follow the plans that I found on Ana Whites page.  They were so amazing and easy to follow.

The hubs built the pedestals for around $90 dollars.  Let's compare the cost of the diy version and the store bought version.  $90 dollars vs $500 dollars.  Seriously amazing.    I must say I would make the same choice again!  And look at the storage we gained underneath!  Woohoo!

I've had these set up for about a month now and I must say they are extremely  sturdy.  I had been concerned about whether or not these pedestals could stand up to the spin cycle on my washer.  No concerns...these things are as stable and sturdy as you could ever hope for.

It's amazing how something so little can make such an impact on a room.  Here is a look at the final product.

I can't even begin to describe how much of a game changer these pedestals have made the chore of laundry.  Ah-mazing!
