Stenciling a focus wall in the girls bedroom
When I started considering redoing the girls bedroom I sat them down and had them make wish lists for their new space. And the lists they came up were not that crazy. New bedding, new rug, better lighting, floating shelves, beachy feel. Totally doable. Until I read...herringbone painted wall. Womp Womp.

A Plan for the Girl's Bedroom
It's time to update my girls room. This one is kinda tough for me. It means that I have to admit that my baby girls are growing up. I like to think that they are still in footie pajamas but the reality is they are a senior and sophomore in high school.

A DIY Rustic "Tool" Box
I love organized spaces. They make my heart go pitter patter. If you ever peruse through my Pinterest boards I am pretty sure that I have at least 5 boards dedicated to just organizing. And labels. As I have been putting the finishing touches on my "mom's craft zone," I have found myself in need of some organizing items.

A new take on an old bookcase
This bookcase was sitting outside one of my favorite "antique" stores. I drove past it twice a day for a good month on my way to and from work. I would find myself looking to see if it was still there.
And then I would play the what would I do with that game. You know the game...If I bought it what would I do to it? Where would it go? Can I REALLY use it? And then inevitably..how much does it cost? Is it worth it?

Pottery Barn Inspired Filing Cabinet for less than $20
I love Pottery Barn. I would decorate the majority of my house with it if I could. But it is not in my budget. Not even close. And truth be told...even if it was in my budget I don't know if I could bring myself to spend that kind of money. I'm a thrifty girl at heart.

Pegboard for the craft area
I am a sucker for an organized space. Add labels to it and I am in serious love. When I began the planning stage for my craft zone I thought long and hard about what I planned to really use the space for. What kind of crafty activities was I really going to be doing?

It's done! The new and improved Super Hero bedroom
It's done! B-Man's bedroom is finally done! It took just over 10 months to finish this project. My son has issues with change. He is a kiddo who runs on consistency and schedules. He needs those to function appropriately. So I needed to complete his room refresh slowly and carefully.

A painted farmhouse stool
I'm short. I'm talking 5 foot nothing kind of short. When I was younger I never really thought much about how tall I am. I was taller than my mom and that really is all that I cared about.

$5.00 thrift Store Chair Makeover...
We all know that I love a good bargain. I can't resist haunting the local thrift stores and "antique" shops. I always use a coupon when I'm shopping. And I always head to the clearance aisle at the store first. My mom is the same way. I think it is a gene that I was born with. So when I ran across this little gem of a chair one afternoon I couldn't resist it.

Craft Room dreaming...
I dream of having a craft room all for myself. Somewhere that I can spread out and leave projects as I am working on them. Or where I can close the door and disappear for awhile into my own head.
Spaces such as these...

Easy-Peasy Lamp Redo
Revamping B-man's room has so far been a labor of love. Stress on the word labor. This kiddo does not like change! I'm talking if nothing ever changes in is room he will do a happy dance. In fact his answer to purging /changing his room is we should buy a new house that has a bigger room for him. I.am.so.serious. So anytime we redo/revamp anything for him it takes a little bit longer.
That being said, I recently redid his old nursery lamp into an updated Marvel comic lamp.

Board and Batten in the Laundry Room.
A few weeks ago I shared my plans to "refresh" our laundry room. You can see my ideas here. We have been steadily working on it. So far we have added DIY laundry pedestals, and I made some new artwork for the walls. I must say though that when we added the board and batten to the walls the room really started to change.
The room became so light and bright! I adore it. Who knew such a small change would make such an enormous difference.

Upcycling Pallets into Amazing Pallet Bookcases...
My son B's room is teeny tiny. It's tough to fit more than his twin bed and his new desk in the room. We have had to become creative with finding storage for all of his toys and books in his bedroom. We decided that shelving was going to be the best idea. And seeing as how I am a thrifty girl (read: penny-pinching cheap) I wanted to figure out an economical way to create some.

Endless love and Laundry: A DIY sign for the laundry room.
I spend a lot of time in the laundry room. A LOT of time. There are five of us in this crazy home...2 teenagers and a 10 year old little boy. Those three create 2x more laundry than my husband or I. So needless to say the laundry is always going. A couple of months ago I decided that the laundry room needed a little sprucing up. I showed you my ideas here in this post. And then my amazing hubby made me these laundry pedestals. Seriously...these were a game changer when it came to laundry in my home.

Turning a garage sale desk from a zero to a hero...A super hero that is!
I have been slowly updating B man's bedroom. He is not a child who is open to change. In fact anything that even resembles a change of the normal routine can cause epic meltdowns. We are talking volcano eruptions. So that being said we need to slowly update his room. When we moved here he had just turned 5 and was in preschool. He is now a whopping 10 years old. It's hard to believe that 5 years have passed. Time flies when you're having fun.
